When it comes to my initial interest in sound arts, my first time to get involved in sound producing was my final project in the Camberwell’s foundation course.I was studying fine art photography at that time, and I decided to make a video work with producing my own music for the audio.The first time using Logic Pro was really complicated, but after finishing the music myself, I felt that same thrill as the first time that I use a camera to take a photo.I thought that I can now express myself in a new way.After that, there’s always a rush surging inside of me to produce more music and experimenting with different way to produce music.I like to make ambient music and experiment with how to combine different synthesizers to arouse the atmosphere that is unreal or from my imagination.I was born, raised and educated in China.And the one of the rules of Chinese aesthetic is to be implicit, poetic and using connotation to depict a scene.This oriental aesthetic is quite different from UK.Therefore, I always want to make ambient music based on oriental imagery.Because languages, culture,aesthetic are so different among so many countries and continents on the planet.But similar sensations like sounds and taste are much more universal.Therefore, I wanted to create the ambient sounds and music of people that never encountered, experienced or even something that never existed.But using the magic and power of sound, they can feel the same way and as if they have had already been there.
