Collage is something that I am always fond of, because it takes two completely different things together and sees how they spark. And I think the DADA movement shares the same spirit with collage that extracts something rough and sticks it somewhere it doesn’t belong. Like the famous piece Fountain. It is nonsensical and more ironic than any others. And Man Ray’s sculpture called Gift. Both these famous art piece share the same spiritual core with collage.

As for the sound collage, I think vinyl collage is a very classic and interesting form of it. It shows a lot of uncertainty and inaccuracy than using DAW for editing. But there is another thing that DAW sound collage can do is that the visibility of editing. In the class practice, I didn’t hear the audio and only watching the screen for the whole process.
