I didn’t want to set a specific visual style for myself in the first place, so I decided to start by making some collages. Here are some I created to help develop a clearer direction.

Based on these collages, I’ve realized that I want a visual style that is more vibrant, rich in color, and dreamy. It can also incorporate some dark tones and unrestrained body language.
The first is from Faye Wong’s 1995 music video for the song 假期 “Holiday.” In the video, Faye Wong seamlessly merges and interacts with her Beijing room. Her spontaneous, almost whimsical body language and the color palette, paired with her ethereal and cool vocal delivery, left me deeply struck.
The second reference is from Wong Kar-wai’s film “Chungking Express,” where Faye Wong also stars. Her spontaneous, almost elusive movements, along with her playful and vividly expressive gestures and body language, all convey one thing: she has fallen in love with the policeman in front of her, but, due to hesitation and unspoken affection, chooses to express her feelings through such behavior.
