The inspiration for this project comes from my personal experience. As someone with poor sleep quality, I often feel that surrounding sounds become amplified when I am tossing and turning. And my mind constantly replays and echoes sounds from the day, such as conversations or other memorable noises.
Then it became a question that I have been asking myself and looking for the answer to. If we look around and find nothing but noise across all corners of the world, how can one ever find tranquility? If we look ahead and see future generations born into the clamor of cities, who will still remember that all we ever wanted, in the beginning, was just a peaceful night’s sleep?
Look around — who do you see? Who comes to mind? And who have you forgotten?
Therefore, I intend to create a film that explores the relationship between humans, cities, and noise. Starting with sound, I aim to craft a narrative and dreamy film.
I started this project by conceiving sound, and here are the initial melodic motifs I’ve written. I plan to highlight and emphasize these motifs through variations and changes in instrumentation.

This is the first composition and instrument that I have chosen, which I was not satisfied with. But for the melody, I am satisfied. This is a basic chord progression and melodic line I’ve written, set in A minor to evoke a somewhat melancholic and sorrowful tone. Certain sections, such as measures 17 to 24, could be improved—I believe some note adjustments are needed. While they follow the chord progression well, these measures currently lack melodic appeal and memorability when played together.
These are the compositions that I have chosen for the second time. Compared with the first bell sound, I chose a synth that sounds more mellow, enabling the whole piece to become more soft and dreamy.
