Sound For Screen field recording

This video documents the process and some reflections on my field recording session. During this recording, I focused primarily on the noise and irritating sounds around Moorgate. For me, the central question I kept reflecting on while recording was: with so many streets and alleys filled with such overwhelming noise, can we still find a truly quiet place?

I recorded many sound samples—the bustling voices in a jazz club, the shouts and laughter of children in the square, and the sounds of the tube representing industry and urbanization. Surrounded by so many different sounds and the reactions they provoke in me, I feel increasingly unable to find a truly quiet place in the city. When neither taking off our headphones nor putting them on can ease this damage, do we still need to stand here?
